Ellis Preserve is a timeless historical landmark.

Ellis Preserve has a rich history dating back to 1919, when it first opened as a school for girls. For nearly six decades, the school provided education and inspiration to young women until its doors closed in 1977. Today, this stunning historic venue stands as a testament to the school’s legacy, preserving its remarkable architecture and idyllic, pastoral landscape. In 2016, The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve opened its doors as a premier wedding destination. The development has taken great care to honor the site’s history and celebrate its past, while offering an incomparable, personalized experience for couples on their wedding day.

Originally built in 1932, The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve is located in the beautiful Newtown Square suburbs, with easy accessibility from Route 3 and 476. Its timeless charm and elegant features have made it a popular choice for couples.

What sets this venue apart from others of its kind is its unique combination of historical charm and modern amenities. The Ballroom’s tall, grandiose windows bathe the interior space in natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for daytime receptions. The palatial, stone exterior boasts neoclassical architecture, reminiscent of iconic structures like The White House and The Philadelphia Art Museum. The expansive, flat land surrounding the venue is perfect for hosting nuptial ceremonies, photo shoots, and events of all kinds. The Ballroom gives you the freedom to customize your event however you want.

Some wedding venues have strict policies on customization and won’t let you deviate from their established design schemes. At The Ballroom, however, you will find a blank canvas waiting for you to style into the wedding of your dreams. With its traditional white marble floors and neutral colors, The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve can be tailored to suit any event style or theme. You can bring your own furniture and decor, ensuring that every element of your wedding reflects your unique personality and vision.

Best of all, you won’t have to worry about any competing color schemes or design elements that might clash with your own. At The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, your wedding will truly be one-of-a-kind, and the entire space will adapt to your needs and preferences. Whether you’re planning a glamorous, vintage wedding or a modern, minimalist affair, you will have the complete freedom to make the event your own.

The Ballroom offers plenty of space for photoshoots and other creative endeavors, as well. While specializing in weddings, the Ballroom also hosts upscale corporate events and fundraisers during the week.

The Ballroom is accessible, easy to find, and can accommodate many guests.

The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve is a versatile venue with a capacity ranging from 100 minimum - 230 maximum for receptions & seated dinners, and up to 400 guests for cocktail style events. While many wedding venues present issues, such as limited parking in city venues or expensive hotels surrounding them, The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve offers a solution. This beautiful location provides the perfect balance between being far enough away from the city to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, yet close enough to popular towns like Wayne, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, King of Prussia, and the bustling city of Philadelphia.

Additionally, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, is only a 30-minute drive from the Philadelphia International Airport, making it easily accessible for guests traveling from far away.

The Ballroom offers abundant parking, easy navigation, and plenty of amazing restaurants nearby that can accommodate large groups. With lots of fun activities in the area for friends & family who are in town for a long weekend, there is no need to worry about keeping guests entertained during their stay.

Kate & Logan tied the knot in a beautiful February wedding, featuring two stunning flower walls by Nicol Floral Design that brought an extra dose of sophistication and allure to the celebration. The first wall, “Cheyenne,” was used for the ceremony and sweetheart table, and featured an array of white roses and other light-colored florals, with occasional bursts of sage green. The second wall, a monochromatic masterpiece made of all-white flowers, “Chloe,” was positioned in the hallway and used as a photo booth backdrop.

A Modern Touch Floral Designs of Montgomery County flawlessly executed a classic pre-spring color palette of pure creams and subtle greens, infusing the event aesthetic with a sense of fresh, meadow-evoking florals. Eucalyptus hints were spotted among the white roses in the floral arrangements and the bride’s elegant bouquet.

The couple incorporated a natural color scheme that highlighted woodsy green tones, as evidenced by the exquisite dresses worn by Kate’s bridesmaids. The serene and nature-inspired wedding took place inside The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, which managed to embrace the wholesome beauty of the outdoors while remaining fully indoors.
